Attending Preschool is a great experience for your child. We have a daily schedule, but we also manage to have a lot of fun! Preschool offers your child a chance to socialize and learn with his or her peers. Parents of Preschoolers also benefit by meeting new people and making friends. With its light academic program, Preschool readies children for elementary school.

      Enrollment for the 2009–2010 school year began on February 1, 2009. The following classes will be offered:
      Three-Year-Old Class: Students must be 3 years old by August 31, 2009. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. There is a $30 non-refundable enrollment fee. Tuition is $80 for residents, and $90 for non-residents.
      Four-Year-Old Class: There will be two four-year-old classes offered this school year. For both classes, students must be 4 years old by August 31, 2009. Class will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Classes will begin on Monday, August 31, 2009. There is a $30 non-refundable enrollment fee. Tuition is $100 for residents, and $110 for non-residents.
      Classes will also be offered Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Classes will begin on Monday, August 31, 2009. There is a $30 non-refundable enrollment fee. Tuition is $150 for residents, and $160 for non-residents.
      A Snack is provided in all classes. The Teacher, Mrs. Amanda Copulos, utilizes Eastern York School District standards for admission into kindergarten as a basis for all lesson plans.

Flag Football Registration
Tuesday, June 30; 6–7:30 p.m.

Ages: 6–9
Join EYARC for NFL® Youth Flag Football! Practices will start in August. Games will be in September and October. Players will receive a football jersey, which is included in the cost.

Flag Football Cheerleading Registration
Tuesday, June 30: 6–7:30 p.m.

Cost: Fee: $60

Ages: 6–7
Join Eastern York High School Cheerleading coach Darla Confer for NFL® Youth Flag Football Cheerleading! Practices will start in August. Games will be in September and October. Cheerleaders will only cheer at home games. Uniforms will be provided by EYARC. T-shirt is included in the fee.

Family Fun Paddle Tour
Tuesday, August 25; 10 a.m.–12 noon
Location: Shank’s Mare Outfitters
Cost: $30 Adult/$20 Child
Here’s a great way to spend time with your kids! Begin your outing with some basic kayak orientation. Launch your boats and enjoy a guided tour of the Susquehanna River. Explore the streams that empty into the river, and watch for Bald Eagles you may spot on your outing. This paddle is suitable for beginners with paddlers using double or triple seat decktop kayaks. (Older children may be permitted to use single kayaks but please inquire about details.) Children 6 years and up, and parents of all ages will enjoy this program. Fee includes tour, guide, kayak, paddles, and PFDs.


School Age Child Care (SACC)


Our 2009–10 SACC program is held at Canadochly, Wrightsville and Kreutz Creek Elementary Schools for children enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We offer before school care from 6:30 a.m. until school starts and after school care from school dismissal until 6 p.m. Children will be able to purchase individually wrapped breakfast items in the morning and individually wrapped snack items in the afternoon. We provide help with homework and an array of activities including: arts and crafts, free play time, group games, physical fitness activities and special events. We are licensed through the Department of Public Welfare, as well as a participant with both Keystone Stars and Child Care Consultants.

Enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year will be as follows:
Canadochly: April 8, 2009
Kreutz Creek: April 15, 2009
Wrightsville: April 22, 2009

**All Registration times are from 4-6 p.m. and are held at the Elementary School your child attends or will be attending.

There is a $30 non-refundable enrollment fee. Rates for the 2009-2010 school year will be as follows:

School’s Out Program
 

Our School’s Out program is offered at the Lower Windsor Township Building for Canadochly Elementary School and at ValleyView Alliance Church for Kreutz Creek and Wrightsville Elementary Schools when Eastern York School District is closed for scheduled days off. The program opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are not provided
( AM and PM snacks are available). Daily activities include crafts, games, science experiments, food projects, and movies. We also offer some special events such as field trips and parties. We require a minimum of 12 children to operate the program each day. Pre-registration is required. Rates for the 2008–09 school year are $24 for residents of Eastern York School District and $29 for non-residents of Eastern York School District. A 10% discount is given to a second child per family.

School’s Out Dates for the 2008-2009 School Year are as follows:

There may be additional days added throughout the school year. Please watch for flyers sent home with your child through the school.



3rd Annual Teen Idol Registration
Monday or Tuesday, May 18 or 19; 6–7 p.m.
Location: Lower Windsor Township Building (upper level)
Cost: $20/person (non-refundable)
Ages: 13–19

EYARC is hosting the 3rd Annual Teen Idol Competition! Try-outs will begin at the end of May and will be narrowed down to the top 3 finalists. The top 3 contestants will practice through the month of June and July, and will perform and be voted on at this year’s Carnival. For more information, please contact Melanie at (717) 246-8155.

Fun Night
Friday, May 22; 7–9:30 p.m.
Location: Lower Windsor Township Building
Cost: $5

Ages: 6th–8th grade

Come to the Lower Windsor Township Building and enjoy your Friday night with music, basketball and FUN! DJ Mr. Wes will spin the tunes. Concession items will also be available for sale. Registration forms will be distributed closer to the event and must be presented the day of the dance to enter. A parent/guardian signature is required on the forms. Parents—you do not have to sign your children in or out, but you must come inside the building to pick them up. Please do not wait in the parking lot. Fauvism and Pointillism Art Workshop
Tuesday, June 30; 12 noon–4 p.m.
Location: Lower Windsor Township Social Hall

Registration Deadline: 6/15/09

We will be studying two styles of art: Fauvism and Pointillism. Fauvism is using bright alternate colors where they normally would not be used (for example, painting a human face with lime greens, pinks and blues). Pointillism is a technique blending small dots to create elaborate images, using dots to create and shade these pictures. Supplies will be provided to each child. Children need to bring a snack and wear clothes that they can get messy in. Art class is taught by EYARC’s Creative Preschool Teacher, Amanda Copulos.

Watercolor and Surrealist Art Workshop
Tuesday, July 21; 12 noon–4 p.m.
Location: Lower Windsor Township Social Hall

We will be looking at different styles of watercolor, specifically Japanese watercolor. The students will then get an opportunity to explore different techniques of watercolor painting. We will also look at the Surrealist art of Chagall. We will use soft pastels to create vivid works of art. Supplies will be provided to each child. Children need to bring a snack and wear clothes that they can get messy in. Art class is taught by EYARC’s Creative Preschool Teacher, Amanda Copulos.

Art in Nature Workshop
Tuesday, August 18; 12 noon–3 p.m.
and
Wednesday, August 19; 1–2 p.m.

This is a two-day workshop. We will be talking about Art in Nature. We will use plants from nature to create paintings and rubbings. We will also learn basic clay and sculpting techniques to make our own pots. On day two, we will be painting our pots. Supplies will be provided to each child. Children need to wear clothes that they can get messy in. Art class is taught by EYARC’s Creative Preschool Teacher, Amanda Copulos.
