             Discounted Fee:  When registering for a program you will see a “Fee” and a “Discounted Fee”. To receive the discounted fee you must be a resident of Lower Windsor Township, Yorkana Borough or East Prospect Borough. The fees are a result with which these three municipalities contribute to the recreation commission. Those participants living outside of these municipalities pay the Regular Fee.

Men’s (Ages 30+) Basketball
Tuesdays,
January 3 - May 29

7:30–9:30 p.m.
Location: Lower Windsor Township Gymnasium
Cost: Fee: $4/week
Discounted Fee: $3/week

Ages: 30 & up
Come to the Lower Windsor Township Gymnasium on Tuesday nights for basketball against your peers! You must be at least 30 years of age to play basketball on this night. Pick-up games will start after everyone has a chance to warm up. Bring your own ball if you wish.

Indoor Co-ed Volleyball
Fridays, January 6 - June 1

7:30–10 p.m.
Location: Lower Windsor Township Gymnasium
Cost: Fee: $4/week
Discounted Fee: $3/week

Age: 16 and up
Come to the Lower Windsor Township Building for some recreational Volleyball! Come by yourself or bring your friends for pick-up games. Based on the number of participants, players will be divided into four teams. Bring your own ball if you wish. 

 

 

Men’s Flag Football (7 vs. 7)
Sundays, beginning March 18
Games begin at 12 pm

Location: Rexroth Park
Fee: $50/person
Register as a team of 8 or more
Registration Deadline: 2/17/2012

Competitive 7 vs. 7 league for men ages 19 and older. Flags are provided. All players must have the same colored shirt, and each shirt must have a number on it. Rules will be provided and strictly followed.


 

Ballroom Dancing (Beginners)
Mondays, March 19 – May 21 (No class 4/9)

7:30 - 8:30 pm      
Location: Lower Windsor Township Social Hall
Fee: $80/couple
Registration Deadline: 3/2/2012
Join instructor Fran and learn the basics of ballroom dancing.  Dances include: Salsa, Samba, Mambo, and Disco. Class is designed for dancers with limited experience. Grab a friend and get dancing.

Join instructor Fran and get back to the basics of the most popular wedding dance…DISCO!!  Class is designed for dancers with previous class experienceThis is not a beginner class.


Men’s Basketball League
League begins Sunday, February 12th.
First game starts at 1:00 pm

Location: Lower Windsor Township Gymnasium
Fee: $650/team
Registration Deadline: 1/13/2012
This is a recreational league for men 19 years and older. League is open to the first 8 teams registered and fully paid. All teams make the playoffs; PIAA officials officiate all games. Contact Tim at 717-246-8155 for more information.

Join instructor Lisa Strong for an hour of tae-bo-like kickboxing. You will shed the pounds and tone muscle. An easy warm-up leads into a cardio-toning workout to great music and fun moves. Please bring a floor mat for a relaxing cool-down, 3- to 5-lb. weights and a water bottle.



Zumba Fitness

Zumba has become one of the hottest fastest-growing dance-based fitness crazes in the country!! If you love the pulsating Latin beat, and are tired of the same old exercise class, give this fun high energy Zumba workout a try. Learn easy routines to that hot Latin rhythm that will motivate you to keep moving. This is a great cardiovascular program that burns excess calories and body fat while increasing your heart rate. No experience necessary, all fitness levels are welcome!!



Step Aerobics

Tai Chi

If so, then join instructor Suzanne Martin as she teaches you the health rejuvenation benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong as practiced around the world. This class can be as physically challenging as you make it, and gentle enough to be practiced by older adults and those recovering from physical illness and injury.

Chair Yoga

 Chair Yoga is a form that adapts many classic yoga postures to the seated position and makes the benefits of yoga available to anyone able to sit in a chair, including older adults. Everyone can benefit from practicing yoga, a gentle form of exercise that helps your flexibility, strength, balance, and mental focus. Along with meditation and relaxation techniques, breathing, and the use of two-pound weights to build bone mass and gain upper body strength, you will learn how to adapt traditional yoga poses to a chair. Please bring 2lb weights and dress comfortably.
